2compact plant with almost nonexistent pseudobulbs with 3 to 5 large obtuse leathery leaves per growth, strongly pendulous densely flowered 14` spikes, long-lasting heavy textured fully shaped 1-1/2` flowers are olive-green spotted with purple, lip is rose-purple, fragrant, grows best cool and moist
2Similar to the Indian form, this gorgeous species differs by producing inflorescences with up to 8 flowers per spike, the widely spreading blooms have more pointed petals and sepals.
2Rediscovered in Vietnam around 1998 and prior to that was thought to be a natural hybrid - very showy species with very broad leaves for a Cymbidium early bloomer to flowering in July and August for me here in SO CAL. It’s an eburneum type so the growths will continue to grow and flower for multiple years, very fragrant and is also a compact grower.
