often confused with A. spicatum, giganteum is the largest and most spectacular of this group of `hyacinth orchids`, 6`-10` narrow bulbs are topped with a single 15` long flattened thick leathery leaf, densely flowered 8` spikes emerge from a sheath at the base of the leaf with over 150 purple-pink blooms approximately 1/4` in size with a darker purple lip and violet column.
