this orchid has a growth habit that is very similar to D. pendulum, but it is temperature tolerant and has a bloom with completely different colors; semi-pendant 4" to 8" canes are swollen at the nodes, giving the pseudobulbs a "bony" appearance; deep orange, 2-1/2" fragrant blooms have a lip streaked with intense red veins
