an attractive plant reminiscent of miniature bamboo, clumps of densely leafed wiry upright and arching 12" canes with linear dark green 1/2" foliage, the tops of the canes have small dense clusters of about a dozen tubular 1/3" flowers with flared tips, the blooms are deep rose pink and appear simultaneously over the entire plant, free-flowering
similar in all aspects to I. linearis but almost twice the size and more robust-looking, dark-green linear 1-1/4" leaves line the thin 15" canes, upper leaves tend to turn red in higher light, very short apical spikes form a dense head of brilliant purple tubular 2/3" blooms which flower simulataneously on all maturing stems
