wrong name for this plant - a creeping mini
choice semi-mini upright 6" to 8" plant with leaves up to 3" long, short spikes carrying single 4" lustrous white to amber starry blooms with 4" spurs and a pure white lip, name is derived from the flower which is very large in proportion to the plant itself, fragrant.
Growing Tip: Likes to dry out between waterings.
commonly sold as Asc.miniatum which is from Java these two species are often confused (miniatum has thinner leaves and more reddish flowers); Asc.garayi is a very compact miniature Vanda with very thick, succulent light green spotted purple leaves that reach 4" in length, 3/4" round flowers appear in dense heads on 4" - 6" long spikes and are a neon orange-yellow.
Growing Tip: Grow very bright & let dry out between waterings.
